Operations Manager

Taiga Building Products – Sanger has a full-time, permanent opening for an Operations Manager to join our Sanger Branch. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced leader to manage warehouse and logistics operations at our lumber and building materials distribution center. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead by example, working alongside your team to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate daily operations. Responsibilities include overseeing warehouse and yard staff, maintaining quality control and order accuracy, developing and training team members, managing facility upkeep, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring industry experience in lumber, building materials, or distribution, strong operational and logistical knowledge, and a proactive, collaborative leadership style.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of warehouse or operations management experience, preferably in the lumber or building materials industry
• Strong understanding of warehouse workflows and logistics coordination
• Experience with ERP systems (BisTrack strongly preferred)
• Proficient in WMS systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office applications
• Solid knowledge of safety regulations, including Cal OSHA compliance
• Experience managing and motivating teams in a high-volume environment
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to operate or train on forklifts and other material handling equipment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred
• Forklift certification preferred
• CDL license as an asset
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) an asset

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Loading and unloading building materials on flat deck trucks and vans in a safe and efficient manner.
• Accurately picking and staging customer orders.
• Provide excellent customer service to customers and truck drivers.
• Double checking loads before they leave the yard.
• Entering accurate information into BisTrack computer system and printing documents.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Work with Operations, Sales, and Administration to ensure optimal team performance.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Annual Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
