Taiga Building Products is hiring a full-time, permanent Commodity Trader for our Boucherville branch. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role is ideal for a competitive, entrepreneurial, and proactive professional who thrives in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Being extremely competitive, a visionary in their select market and area of expertise.
- Maintain and develop Taiga’s current client base and generate new business within assigned service areas.
- Identify key areas of opportunity by reviewing customers, competitors, and trends.
- Collaborate with internal business units including other branches, procurement, logistics, and operations.
- Customer service with product information and after-sales service.
- Responsible for monitoring sales and profitability, maximizing turns and earns.
- Proven track record of targeting and growing accounts.
- Develop pricing models and strategies for the region.
- Attend periodic meetings and trade shows as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred – 3-5 years lumber trading and/or buying experience.
- Proven record delivering superior customer service.
- Self-motivated, high energy, persistent, and a sense of urgency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills – creativity is key.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Able to meet and exceed performance targets.
- Inventory – Ability to manage inventory turnover and aged inventory.
- Full Cycle Accountability – Responsible for the whole cycle of sales including claims and inventory management.
- Considerable experience making profit-based decisions based on the weight of all factors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional in appearance.
