Taiga Building Products – Milton Branch is seeking an experienced EWP designer for a full-time, permanent position. The EWP Designer (EWP Technical Service Representative) will be responsible for designing structural wood components, including floors, beams, and columns for residential and light commercial buildings. This role involves close collaboration with customers and sales staff across our Eastern branches. The EWP Designer will be based at Milton branch and report to the Product Manager – EWP.

Main Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop design packages for a variety of Engineered Wood Products applications, including single residences, multi-family complexes, and light commercial buildings.
- Coordinate EWP components, managing tasks such as receiving plans, quoting, and designing EWP systems.
- Generate shop drawings for products and offer technical assistance to customers and the Sales department.
- Collaborate with dealers, architects, city building officials, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely completion of design projects.
- Assist the Sales team in addressing customer requests, maintaining a positive and constructive approach, and emphasizing exceptional customer service.
- Conduct structural analysis of wood beams and columns.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Diploma in Architecture, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficient in computer and math skills.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and structural working drawings.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Professional, courteous, and punctual, emphasizing exceptional customer service.
- Solid understanding of the building code and construction market; BCIN in Structural would be an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or “Floor design” software (Javelin, iStruct, Keymark, Mitek) is advantageous.
- Practical experience in the construction or building materials industry is an asset.

Compensation:
- Annual Salary – $60,000 to $80,000 (Based on experience)
