Taiga Building Products in Dartmouth, NS, is seeking a full-time, permanent Territory Sales Representative, reporting to the Branch Manager. This role is responsible for driving sales growth of lumber, panels, and building products throughout Dartmouth and the broader Atlantic Canada region. The position follows a hybrid schedule, combining in-office and field-based sales activities throughout the week. Regular travel within the assigned region is required. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and work closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional service. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- 3–5 years of proven sales experience in a related industry (building materials preferred)
- Strong ability to build and maintain customer relationships within a defined territory
- Demonstrated success in both inside and outside sales, including full-cycle order processing and territory development
- Skilled in creating sales, offering pricing and terms within established margins, and generating accurate sales orders
- Proficient in preparing quotations, processing orders, and supporting sales activities across departments
- Capable of providing accurate pricing, inventory, and delivery details to customers
- Strong product knowledge and ability to respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional in appearance and conduct
- Must be computer literate
- Willing and able to travel regularly within the assigned sales territory
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships while actively generating new business opportunities within the assigned territory
- Manage a hybrid sales role, balancing in-office inside sales functions with field-based outside sales activities
- Respond to customer inquiries, provide detailed product knowledge, and deliver excellent service and after-sales support
- Prepare quotations, process sales orders, and complete necessary internal documentation efficiently and accurately
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to coordinate inventory, logistics, and delivery timelines
- Stay current on all product offerings and technological tools to support informed selling and customer education
- Ensure maximum sales revenues are obtained
- Participating in trade shows, company meetings, and industry events as required
- Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Apply problem-solving and analytical thinking to meet customer needs and resolve challenges efficiently
