In addition to CCA, Arxada’s Wolmanized® Tanatone® Colour Technology is used with our CA-B preservative to ensure a consistent, high-quality brown colour at our Langley, Edmonton, and Monetville facilities. What type of screws and fasteners do you recommend?
When working with preserved wood, we recommend using building code-approved, corrosion-resistant fasteners and connectors, such as stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized screws. For coastal installations, we recommend using code-approved stainless steel.
How do you preserve wood?
As a preserved wood supplier, we use Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) approved chemical solutions for our lumber, ensuring our treatment process is up-to-date with the current CSA Standards. These potent chemicals protect the wood from termite attack and fungal decay.
Is all treated wood created equal?
No, treated wood is typically available in above-ground applications, ground contact/freshwater applications, and in permanent wood foundations. Be sure to use the correct product for the appropriate end use.
